Also, I am launching a news aggregation site dealing with Latin America and will involve geomapping. Applications are being accepted at this time from undergraduate and graduate students for the spring and summer terms(2011). This internship should be very attractive to those who want to learn the craft of open source media monitoring/analysis with a focus on Latin America. The internships are nonpaid and will require high speed access to the internet. Interns will receive rigorous training in monitoring media and developing indepth knowlege of the region. Also required are above average abilities in one of the following languages: Spanish, Portuguese or Quichua. A reading test in Spanish, Portuguese, or Quechua is required. A writing test will also be administered in English of all candidates. Native speakers of Spanish, Portuguese or Quechua are encouraged to apply.
Internships will last a minimum of one semester and require between 5-10 hours a week.
