Quiero compartir unos anuncios sobre la sección.


1) Resultados de las elecciones: Gracias a todas las personas que se ofrecieron como candidatas a los 2     puestos de vocal.

2)    Comité de medios sociales: Todavía necesitamos voluntarios/as para este comité. No tienes que ser un experto en tecnología para colaborar con este comité cuya meta es mejorar y ampliar la presencia virtual de la sección.



3) Convocatoria para panel en LASA 2018: De uno de nuestros miembros viene este mensaje:

Estimad at s compañer at s, en vista del congreso de LASA (Latin American Studies Association), que se celebrará en Barcelona (España) del 23 al 26 de mayo de 2018, deseamos presentar una propuesta de sesión sobre el tema “Subalternidad y vida cotidiana en las ciudades andinas: aproximaciones desde antropología e historia”. Nos gustaría para esto recolectar propuestas de ponencias de investigadores que estén interesados en participar al congreso y dialogar con nosotros sobre el tema.
Por este motivo, rogamos a todos aquellos que puedan estar interesados, en enviarnos propuestas de ponencias (título y un breve abstract) antes del 31 de julio de 2017, para poder armar una propuesta de sesión antes del cierre de la convocatoria el 1 de septiembre.

4) Resolución de la sección de Estudios Venezolanos: Del presidente de esta sección nos llega el siguiente mensaje (la votación estará abierta hasta el 30 de septiembre):

As of July 3, LASA members can vote on the resolution on Venezuela. The text of the resolution is the result of the arduous discussion and debate in which diverse and even contradictory views were considered regarding the current difficult situation of Venezuelan democracy. We would like to invite those in favor of the spirit of the resolution to vote for it. We think that it reflects the serious concerns of those of us who have observed the Venezuelan government's authoritarian slide, as well as the despair of those of us who are seeing the effects of this crisis in our daily lives.

1) Election Results: Thank you to all of those who volunteered as candidates for the two open council representative positions.

2)  Social Media Committee: We still need volunteers for this committee. You don’t have to be a technology expert to participate on this committee, whose goal is to improve and broaden the virtual presence of the section.
