Queridxs compañerxs,

Nuevamente queremos pedir su solidaridad que ha sido tan generosa hasta
ahora. Las condiciones de los y las protestantes en Ecuador han empeorado,
la represión del gobierno se vuelve más brutal. El día de ayer en la noche
la policía bombardeó con gas lacrimógeno dos universidades en Quito que
actuaban como centros de acogida humanitaria a los cientos de protestantes
que han llegado de todo el país. Al momento del bombardeo, las mujeres,
hombres y niños se encontraban descansando. Es difícil estimar cifras en
este momento pero algunos cuerpos de auxilio hablan de la muerte de un niño
y un anciano por asfixia.

Miles de personas siguen protestando en las calles de todo el país y han
puesto su cuerpo al frente de las luchas mientras el gobierno quiere
instaurar una política del terror e intimidación. Cada vez nos queda más
claro que no es suficiente la presión y movilización interna dada por los
movimientos sociales contra el gobierno, la respuesta de las fuerzas
armadas ha sido más represión. Necesitamos levantar más voces fuera del
país para que crezca la presión internacional. Por eso quiero pedirles un
gran favor más. Hemos logrado llegar a las 380 firmas de apoyo de las
cuales ustedes han sido parte. Ahora queremos pedirles que envíen esa carta
como adjunto a los correos electrónicos de la Embajada o Consulado
Ecuatoriano en su país, mostrando su preocupación por el nivel de violencia
que el gobierno ha desatado y la constante violación a los derechos
humanos. Mientras más personas puedan, mejor. Acá la lista donde podrán

Somos un grupo de organizaciones sociales y ciudadanos de diferentes países
preocupados por la actual situación política por la que el Ecuador está
atravesando. Mostramos nuestra preocupación ante el alarmante y desmedido
uso de la fuerza para reprimir a los miles de ecuatorianas y ecuatorianos
que legítimamente protestan en la calle por la derogación de unas medidas
económicas neoliberales que solamente empeorarán sus ya precarias
condiciones económicas.

Nos solidarizamos con el pueblo ecuatoriano en las calles y condenamos la
brutal represión creada desde el gobierno nacional que violenta la vida del
pueblo en las calles.

Les pedimos también que si pueden me envíen un correo indicando el país en
donde se ubica la embajada o consulado ecuatoriano. Esto nos va a servir
para mostrar que la solidaridad internacional por la lucha a una vida digna
traspasa fronteras.

Dear friends,

Again we want to ask for your solidarity. The conditions of the protesters
in Ecuador have worsened, the repression of the government have become more
brutal. Last night the police bombed two universities in Quito with tear
gas, those universities were operating as humanitarian reception centers
for the hundreds of protesters who had arrived from all over the country.
At the moment of the bombing, women, men and children were resting. It is
difficult to estimate the damage at this time but some aid bodies speak of
the death of a child and an old man from suffocation.

Thousands of people continue to protest in the streets throughout the
country and have put their bodies at the forefront of the struggles while
the government wants to establish a policy of terror and intimidation. It
becomes clearer for us that the internal pressure and mobilization given by
social movements against the government is not enough, the response of the
armed forces has been more repression. We need to raise more voices outside
of the country so that international pressure grows. That is why I want to
ask you one more favor. We have reached 380 signatures of support, of which
you have been a part. Now we want to ask you to send that letter as an
attachment to the email of the Ecuadorian Embassy or Consulate in your
country, showing your concern about the level of violence that the
government has unleashed and the constant violence to human rights. The
more people can do that, the better. Here is the list where you can find

concerned about the current political situation in Ecuador. We share our
concern at the alarming and excessive use of force to repress thousands of

precarious economic conditions.

We stand in solidarity with the Ecuadorian people and condemn the brutal
repression created by the national government that violates the life of the
people in the streets.
